This is crazy!
During a drive on an Oakland, California freeway in broad daylight, a couple was rattled when stray bullets tore through their car windows during a civilian car chase.
Dashcam footage was posted on YouTube on Tuesday.
According to the description of the video, the engaged couple said they were riding on the freeway “when one vehicle shot multiple rounds at another car chasing it” as “one of the rounds went through our front and back windshield.”
“We both had some glass scratches but are lucky to have not been hit by any bullet fragments,” they added.
The couple gave a full account of what happened to the police and had their front and back windshields replaced.
Insurance
In this particular case, insurance didn’t fully cover the damage because it’s just considered ‘glass damage.’” As a result, the couple purchased new front and back windshields and set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money to cover the cost.
“We’re not asking for much, but we’ll be getting married later this year,” continued the couple. “We don’t want to be in a deeper hole due to a traumatic event that was out of our control.”
Fortunately, they’ve already exceeded their $1,000 goal, raising at least $1,055 from 28 donations.
